Technology is changing the lives of everyone. Through teaching Computing at The Bramble Academy, we equip children to participate in a rapidly changing world where work and leisure activities are increasingly transformed by technology.
Unfortunately, along with all the positives technology brings, there is a negative side. The Bramble Academy takes internet safety extremely seriously and acknowledges the growing need for children to be extra vigilant. This is taught through regular lessons, assemblies and role-play scenarios. The schools internet safety rules are rigorous and understood by staff, pupils and parents.
At The Bramble Academy, our resources are being updated, renewed and increased on a regular basis to keep children and the school community abreast of technological developments.
Each class has access to interactive whiteboards.
We also have a trolley with a bank of wireless networked laptops and access to colour printers, scanner, cameras, calculators, roamers and bee-bots.
At The Bramble Academy, we teach computing to all children, whatever their ability. We value the diversity of individuals within the school and do not discriminate against children because of ‘differences’. All children are encouraged and given computing opportunities in all areas.ICT is often a doorway to develop self-esteem, confidence and interest and can really allow a child to achieve their personal best.
